He is the son of Vitier de Moëslains , Lord of Dampierre , and Marie de Saint-Just [ 1 ] . Summary Biography He adds to the paternal domains of Dampierre , Saint-Dizier and Moëslains the seigneury of Saint-Just which was the prerogative of his mother [ 2 ] . As lord of Saint-Just , he became a peer of the bishopric of Troyes (also called baron de la crosse ) and he probably had to attend the coronations of the bishops of Troyes [ 2 ] . It carries a prestigious marriage by marrying Elizabeth of Montlhéry, daughter of Milon I first said the Great , lord of Montlhéry , and Lithuise Soissons. The house of Montlhéry is in fact the result of a younger branch of the house of Montmorency , one of the most illustrious of the French nobility . In addition, his wife brought him the viscount of Troyes , which made him an important figure in the county of Champagne [ 2 ] . Marriage and children To modify Around 1090, he married Elizabeth of Montlhéry, daughter of Milon I first said the Great , lord of Montlhéry , and Lithuise Soissons, Viscountess of Troyes , which he has at least five children [ 1 ] : Guy de Dampierre († in 1151), who succeeds his father. Eudes de Dampierre († after 1136). a girl married to a knight named Geoffroy. other children cited (but not named) in a charter of 1107/1108. Historical confusion To modify Some historians of the xix th century show a Thibaut I st Dampierre as father of Thibaut II de Dampierre , but this is certainly an error and it is most certainly one and the same person .
