  The primary source for this marriage only calls her 'a Greek [i.e. Byzantine] princess'. No name is recorded, but various subsequent genealogists have arbitrarily selected various Byzantine or Russian female names for her - Maria, Irena, Anastasia, etc. - without any historical basis simply because it is uncomfortable to not be able to call her something. It is presumed that she was a relative of Emperor Constantine IX Monomachos, because he was reigning in Cosntantinople at the time the marriage would have taken place, and because her son would be known by the name Vladimir Monomakh. She was almost certainly not Constantine's daughter: she has not been identified in Greek sources, which report him as childless. Had he a daughter, her marriage would ahve established a succession claim, and hence would be inherently noteworthy to the Greek historians, making her unlikely to have been overlooked or left uncommented upon.
