Note: AMEDEE [I] ([1100/10]-28 Jun 1178)...m firstly (before 1131) MATHILDE de Cuiseaux, daughter of HUGUES Seigneur de Cuiseaux et de Clairvaux & his wife --- (-before 2 Jul 1137). "Amedeus Gebennensis comes" donated property to the monastery of Abondance "in manu…consanguinei mei domini Bocardis ipsius ecclesiæ abbatis", for the souls of "patris mei Aymonis et matris meæ Itæ et Willelmi fratris mei et Matildis uxoris mæ" and for the protection of "filiorum meorum Wilelmi et Amedei", by charter dated 1153[59]. The primary source which confirms her parentage has not yet been identified. Her date of death is set by the charter dated 2 Jul 1137 under which her husband "Amedeus comes Gebennensis" granted privileges to the monastery of Saint-Martin, for the absolution of "patris et matris et uxoris mee"[60]. m secondly ([1137/40?]) --- [de Domène], daughter of --- (-after 1170). The primary source which confirms her origin and marriage has not been identified. The following documents suggest her connection with the Domène family. An undated charter, which compiles records of numerous donations to Domène, includes an undated report that “Pontius Ainardi prior de Domina” acquired the pledge of property “in parrochia de Tencins in territorio de Theis jure hæreditario” from “milite Hugone scilicet de Domina”, who was leaving on crusade, with the consent of “Dalmatius de Dum” and guaranteed by “domina...comitissa Gebennensis...et Aymo filius eius”[61]. Monteynard dates the priorship of Pons Aynard to “vers 1140-1147-1160”[62], suggesting that the pledge was given just before the 1147 crusade, which if correct indicates that the unnamed “comitissa Gebennensis” was the second wife of Amédée [I]. Jean Bishop of Grenoble, by charter dated 17 Mar 1340 (“millesimo tercentesimo quadragesimo”), quoted the charter dated 1170 (“millesimo centesimo septuagesimo, episcopatus...domini Johannes Gratianopolitani episcopi decimo octavo”) under which “Hugo Alti Villaris et uxor mea Aalis et filius meus Hugo, Soffredus quoque, uxor eius et filius eius Soffredus, Nantelmus Aynardi et filii eius Ainardus et Arbertus et Petrus, Hugo de Rocheta et filius eius Vuillelmus, comitissa Gebennensis...” and others founded La Chartreuse de Saint-Hugon[63]. Williams suggests that she was probably the daughter of Pons Ainard [II] Seigneur de Domène[64], whose supposed ancestry and descendants are shown by Lainé[65], although he highlights that De Moura names her as the daughter of Guigues Ainard Seigneur de Domène (son of Pons Ainard [II]) and his wife “Aude de Morges”[66]. Amédée [I] & his first wife had [two or more] children:
a) GUILLAUME [I] (-25 Jul 1196).
b) other child[ren] (-after 2 Jul 1137).
