=== Life Sketch ===
Lambert II, Count of Lens (died 1054) was a French nobleman. He was likely born circa 1030. This would put his death age at about 24 years old.
He was the son of Eustace I, Count of Bologne and of Maud of Louvain (daughter of Lambert I of Louvain). c.?1053 he married Adelaide of Normandy, Countess of Aumale, daughter of Robert I, Duke of Normandy and sister of William the Conqueror. Adelaide was the widow of Enguerrand II, Count of Ponthieu who died in 1053. c.?1054 Lambert and Adelaide had a daughter, Judith of Lens, although Lambert would scarcely have seen her; he was killed at the battle of Lille in 1054. Lambert was supporting Baldwin V, Count of Flanders against Henry III, Holy Roman Emperor when he was killed in battle.
His widow, Adelaide, married thirdly, Odo, Count of Champagne.
Note that Seier and Walter may have been born to an earlier, unknown wife of Lambert.

Author: "THE SETON'S, LORD'S SETON, BARONS OF SETON AND TRANENT, WINTON AND WYNCHBURGH" "The surname derived from Sea-town, the dwelling of de Lens family of the House of Boulogne. Anciently there were two flemish families named "de Seton", of Carolingian descent settled in Seaton-Staithes in Northumberland in England. The first of the race who came into Scotland was Seier (or Seyerus, Seyer, Secher or Saiker) de Lens, the eldest son of Count Lambert de Lens by his first wife, and who came during the reign of Malcolm III and who obtained from David I, the lands in Haddingtonshire and who was the ancestor of the noble family of Seton, Barons and Lords Seton, and Earls of Winton. He was the son of Dugal or Dougall de Seytoun, by his wife, a daughter of De Quincy, earl of Winchester, constable of Scotland..."
