- Notes:
=== Perhaps the same as Emma of Italy ===
Emma of Melnic had coins issued that called her 'Emma Regina' - Queen Emma, though her husband's coins only call him 'Dux' - Duke. This has led to speculation that she had been a queen, somewhere. This has given rise to the speculation that she was identical to Emma of Italy, estranged wife then widow of King Lothar of France, but the argument supporting the identification is weak. Were she the same as Emma of Italy, she could not have married Boleslav before about 987, and hence could only have been mother of Boleslav's younger sons if she was different than the French Queen.
