=== Life Sketch ===
Gerberga van Gulik (925-995) was a lady from the highest European nobility who became the wife of Megingoz in the second half of the 10th century.
She was a daughter of Godfried van Gulik from the family of Matfrieden and Ermentrudis, possibly the eldest daughter of King Charles the Simple, who was also king of Lorraine, but was deposed in 923. On her father's side she was a granddaughter of Gerard I of the Metzgau and Oda of Saxony, daughter of Duke Otto I of Saxony, the founder of the Ottonian power .
Around 945 she married Megingoz.
Gerberga van Gulik founded the abbey of Vilich, northeast of Bonn. She died in 995. Megingoz died shortly thereafter, after 998.
