Gundelo von Pfitzinger
- Preferred Name: Gundelo von Pfitzinger
- Gender: M
- The+Hohenlohe+are+a+Franconian+edelfreies+gender: with note: Description: The Hohenlohe are a Franconian edelfreies gender, which is probably identical to the Lords of Pfitzingen. The progenitor is Gundelo von Pfitzingen, first mentioned in 1103. The secured sequence begins in 1153 with Konrad and Heinrich von Weikersheim, which appear in documents of Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa and the Bishop Gebhard of Würzburg as witnesses. Since 1178, the family calls itself after the castle Hohenloch in Hohlach near Uffenheim, of which today, however, nothing is preserved. They were faithful vassals of the Staufer and received in gratitude for their services large territorial extensions and the most important sovereign rights.
