=== Life Sketch ===
Adela of Leuven (de Louvain) (presumably in 929-961 ) was the heir daughter of the county of Leuven. Little is known about her and the county of Leuven before the 11th century .
Biography
Adela was born about 929 as daughter of Lambert van Maasgouw and Adela van Betuwe. Another source mentions that Adela van Leuven was the daughter of Hugo III of the Nordgau and Hildegard of Ferrette. Hugo was son of Eberhard III of the Nordgau and Adelinda.
She married the later regretted Reinier III van Henegouwen , count of Henegouwen. Two sons came from this marriage:
1.) Reinier, who in 998 acquired the county of Bergen.
2.) Lambert , who acquired the county of Leuven in 1003
She is known as hereditary daughter of Leuven, but it is not known whether she ever really bore the title countess of Leuven after the death of her father, if she survived her father. Adela died at about the age of 32.
