=== Life Sketch ===
Adalbert I of Thurgau , born around 800 and died on January 16, 846 , is a count of Thurgau and Rätien. It is a direct ascendant by the males of Queen Elisabeth II of the United Kingdom , of Philip I of Belgium and Simeon Sakskoburggotski .
Biography
Son of Count Hunfried I of Rhaetia and his wife Hitta d'Argengau in Istria, he married a woman whose name we do not know. He has a child, Adalbert II the Illustrious of Thurgau.
His father, Hunfried I, was not count of Thurgau but of Upper and Lower Rhetia, although he was originally from Thurgau. From Hunfried I to Burkhard II, Count of Thurgau and Duke of Swabia, this Frankish Thurgovian line reigned over Upper and Lower Rhetia. It is following a decision of Louis the Debonnaire that Adalbert Ier could, in the line of his father, be count of Thurgau.
He was Count of Thurgau for at least two years, from 836 to 838.
Family
Guérin III of Thurgau is his paternal grandfather and the count of Flavigny and Palatine Ulrich Ier Wulfhard of Angoulême of Argengau and Linzgau his maternal grandfather.
