=== Life Sketch ===
Comte Childebrand was born 0620 to Prince Childebert II and Alpaida de Orleans. While Clothair was killing Childebert II's brothers in 0613, Childebert II escaped by jumping on a horse riding away not to be heard of again. It appears that he went into hiding in a monastery in Aries. The Abbess Rusticula took him in as a ten year old boy and raised him. His enemies kept looking for him over the years causing him to move around for safety purposes as he was the heir to the throne of France. When the rumors of keeping Childebert II went to Abbess Rusticula, Clothair II brought her outside where they had their horses stomp her to death. Childebert had sought refuge with Alpaida de Orleans and had a son named Childebrand born 0620. Childebert II moved around again having a daughter Oda who married Duke Boggis, a daughter Regenotrue who married Tassilon von Bayern and a son Count and Duke Fulcoald who married an Alpaida. Childebrand died after 6 March 0673 when he was signer number five of the charter of Bruyers-le-Chatel. The charter was endowing the monastery sponsored by a noble woman named Clotide. She brought the charter to a meeting of the Bishops and nobles where many were benefactors, subscribers and signers of the monastery. Childebrand was just a signer in agreement of support of the monastery. He did not live in the area and was not de Bruyers.
Childebrand was a leader and of noble birth and became a Count under his brother Duke Fulcoald. Some of his domain was in Burgundy where there we no Mayors of the Palace for many years.
There is a marriage of Alpaida to Fulcoald Count and Duke of Burgundy who had a son Childebrand born in 0678 two years before Fulcoald died in 0680. All the family trees has Fulcoald and Alpaida married. If this is the case, Fulcoald and Childebrand where half brothers with the same father Childebert, but different mothers. Fulcoald named their son Childebrand after his brother Childebrand, Count of Burgundy. Childebrand died after 0673 charter.

Note: In 0673 Clotile drew up a charter for a monastery at Bruyers-le-Chatel mentions among witness a dignitary named Childebrand who was one of the signers of the charter. The first name Childebrand is quite rare and shows a relationship with the homonymous count Childebrand I through onomastics being the grandson of Childeband d'Bruyers through his mother Alpaida.
Page: The source shows a relationship that Childebrand d'Bruyers was the father of Alpaida and grandfather of Childebrand I
