  Emma Elizabeth Shoaf was born February 5, 1875 in Fountain County, Indiana the youngest child of Henry and Phrana Shuler Shoaf. Her mother,Phrana, died shortly after the birth of Emma Elizabeth. Henry left her with her uncle , David Shuler, and taking all of the other children, left that month for Kansas. Elizabeth was raised by another unc le, Samuel Shuler and Sarah, his wife. Elizabeth "Eliza" died at her home in Fountain County, Indiana, and was buried at Phranuel Lutheran Cemetery, east of Wallace, in Fountain County, Indiana. She was the mother of 6 children.
