  David Shoaf, Jr. was born in North Carolina in 1826; his parents moved to Indiana about 1828, from North Carolina. David was a farmer, living almost all his married life in Fountain County, Indiana. David died in 1911 and was buried at Phranuel Lutheran Cemetery, east of Wallace, in Fountain County, Indiana; along side of his wife, Mary Ann, whodied in 1898. They are buried in Row 21, Graves 9 and 10.
