=== Life Sketch ===
Zerubabel, 3rd Exilarch, son of Shaltiel, Jewish Prince, acknowledged heir of Exiled-King Jeconiah
ZERUBABEL, ZOROBABEL, ZERU-BABILI, whose Babylonian name was "SHESHBAZZAR" (compare Ezra 1:8,11; 5:14,16 with Zech 4:9), the son of Prince Shealtiel, "the acknowledged heir" of the late Jewish King Jeconiah, considered the "royal Jewish heir", succeeded his father as the 3rd exilarch of Canaan/Palestine circa 545BC.
Zerubabel was the recognized "royal Davidic heir" of his generation. He was the 23rd generation in male-line descent from King David, and, ancestor of the post-exilic royal heirs.
Married
=1st 562BC Amytis, a Babylonian princess, daughter of Babylonian Emperor Amel-Marduk [Evil-Merodach], called his first "foreign wife"; marriage annulled due to shift in politics
=2nd 559BC Rhodah, a Persian princess, may be identified with Rhodogune, the sister of Cyrus "The Great", the 1st Persian Shah; called his other "foreign wife"; marriage ends in divorce under pressure of Levitical priests. Rhodah re-marries a Persian prince, Hystaspes, her cousin, and was the mother of Darius "The Great"
=3rd 536BC Esthra, a Jewish princess [his cousin], daughter of Pedaiah, his father's brother [maybe this is the source why Zerubabel is called son["in- law"] of Pedaiah" in a source, rather than "son of Shaltiel", his true parentage

=== ПРИМЕЧАНИЯ ===
RU_2E61
In the genealogies of Matthew and Luke, as well as in the Old Testament, Salafiel and his son Zerubbabel are present. According to the Old Testament and the Gospel of Matthew, Salafiel's father was Jeconiah. According to the Gospel of Luke, Salafiel's father was Neriah. In the Old Testament, the children of Zerubbabel are listed in detail: Meshullam, Hananiah, Shelomif (daughter), Hashuva, Ogel, Berechiah, Hassadiah, Yushav-Chesed. There are no sons mentioned in the New Testament in this list (in Matthew it is Abiud, and in Luke it is Risai).
