  公劉，
  姬姓，是鞠的兒子，周國第一個稱「公」的首領。公劉時期，周人經常受到戎狄侵擾，所居領地的自然環境也比較惡劣，故公劉將國都南遷到豳。到達豳後，周人開始有計劃的營建房屋，開墾荒地，不久就出現了繁榮的景象。周族的貴族們擇吉日飲酒聚會，祭祀祈禱，正式推舉公劉作宗主和國君。
  公劉帶領族人沿漆水、沮水向南，渡渭水，取得石塊與金屬。之後周人開始制訂曆法並著手建立軍隊，亦積極發展農業，人口大增，以致四周人民紛紛前來歸附。孟子肯定了他帶領周族人勤勞致富的功績，稱他「公劉好貨」。《詩經》稱其為「篤公劉」，讚揚他勤勞忠厚。娶姒氏之女，生子：婺玺。
