少典，上古有熊部落首領，黃帝和炎帝的父親。《史記·五帝本紀》：「黃帝者，少典之子」。《史記集解》譙周：「有熊國君，少典之子也。」《國語·晉語四》：「昔少典娶於有蟜氏，生黃帝、炎帝」。
少典或為一國之國名；國語所指亦或為少典是黃帝、炎帝兩氏氏族之祖，非指炎黃二人。[1]
少典是原始社會時期有熊部落的首領[2]，大多史料都稱黃帝為有熊氏。少典氏啟昆生黃帝軒轅氏。
