=== Life Sketch ===

Note: Batavia Illustrata was written in 1685. This books contains some FACTS from history of 1200-1600 and then adds FANTASY genealogies for any older records. As this was written in 1685 it can not be viewed as a reliable source for records people from before 1100 AD (500 years earlier).
- Title: "Arkel" by Abraham Kemp (1656)
Author: (CONTAINS FANTASIES/LEGENDS) "Arkel" was written in 1656 by Abraham van Kemp, who tried to reconstruct the Arkel genealogie. Unfortunately much of his writing is based on the fantasy rich genealogies that were circulating in the 1600s. In the 1600s many people tried to proof their descendents from the nobilities of old and write all kinds of legends to "proof" their ancestory. "Arkel" falls in this category.
