  "Mary, who was born around 1546, married Richard Stokes in 1557. They had one daughter named Elizabeth. Mary died around June 1591.[3] Bridgett, another of Richard's sisters, was born about 1555. She married Ambrose Rotton on the same day as her sister, Mary, at St Martin's, Birmingham."

  Another possible clue to Mary ____Stoke's identity is found in the will of her son Thomas which includes bequests to aunts named Wallford and Ebrall. These may have been his paternal aunts Elizabeth Heath and Margery Wescote, who may have remarried as no further info in either is found in Yardley under their husbands name. Mary is probably the "systur Marye Stoks" to whom her husband's brother Edward left "his second cloke" in his will dated 1564 as found in the Neghs Register 1/93/pg26-29.

  Source: NEHGS Register, Volume CXLVII, January, 1993, The EnglishAncestry of Edward Holyoke and of his Nephew, Thomas Morris of New Haven. There may be a clue to her identity in the will of her husband, whomentions his "cousin" richard Smalbroke, gentleman, of Yardley. Althoughthe relationship between the Stokes and Smalbroke families has not beendetermined, none of the other Stokes wills for this period mentions anykinship to the Smalbrokes, and Richard Smalbroke was possibly Mary's ownrelative.
