Note: The Inquisition Post Mortem reference below for William Gerard III in 26 Edw 3 names William Gerard IV as son & heir and age 30 (born about 1322). His age is not contained in the book reference, but is in the actual I.P.M. document. Best estimate for his age is probably closer to 1317 based on several items: 1) he was married before 10/6/1338, so more likely age 21 or greater when married instead of age 16 if born 1322, 2) his son Peter was born about 1341, so more likely age 24 when son was born than age 19 if born 1322, 3) his father was born about 1285, so more likely his father was age 32 when he was born than age 37 if born in 1322. ********************************* Gerard, William; Inq. p. m. 26 Edw. 3 (1352-1353), No. 5.
