“Royal Ancestry: A Study in Colonial & Medieval Families,” Douglas Richardson (2013):
"ALICE DE MOHUN. She married (1st) WILLIAM DE CLINTON. They had no issue. He died before 1237. In that year, the king released the manors of Aston Chiveray and Oke (both in the parish of Aston Clinton), Buckinghamshire to her.
She married (2nd) before 16 Dec. 1246 ROBERT DE BEAUCHAMP, Knt., of Hatch Beauchamp, Marston, and Shepton Beauchamp, Somerset, Maidencourt (in East Garston), Berkshire, Dorton, Buckinghamshire, Bolbury Beauchamp (in Malborough) and Tale (in Payhembury), Devon, Shepperton, Middlesex, etc., Justice in Eyre for the Western Counties,
son and heir of Robert„de Beauchamp (also known as Robert Fitz Simon), of Hatch Beauchamp, Marston, Shepton Beauchamp, and Stoke-under-Hamdon, Somerset, Bolbury Beauchamp (in Malborough), Devon, etc., and, in right of his wife, of Maidencourt (in East Garston), Berkshire and Dorton, Buckinghamshire, by Juliane, illegitimate daughter of John Marshal, King's Marshal [see MARSHAL 2.i], elder brother of William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke.
The maritagium of Alice de Mohun included the Soke of Mohun within and without the City of London between Fleet-Bridge and Charing.
They had four sons, John [1st of name], John, Kilt. [2nd of name], Humphrey, Knt., and Robert (Parson of Stoke-under-Hamdon, Somerset), and two daughters, Isabel and Mary.
He was repeatedly summoned to perform military service in various expeditions against the Scots and the Welsh from 1244 to 1263. In 1247-8, as "Robert de Beauchamp the younger," he granted John, Prior of Sandelford, Berkshire two quarters of corn yearly from his manor of Maidencourt (in East Garston), Berkshire.
In 1251 he and his wife, Alice, conveyed to Richard, Abbot of Westminster the Soke of Mohun within and without the City of London; in return the Abbot released to Robert and his heirs the annual rent payable by him for the view of frankpledge of his manor of Shepperton, Middlesex.
In 1254 he gave 5 marks and 10s. worth of rent at Bolbury Beauchamp (in Malborough), together with one ploughland in Tale (in Payhembury), Devon, to Walter le Chaumberleng and Joan his wife, in exchange for lands at Belstone and Upcote, Devon. In 1255 he and his aunt, Sibyl de Bermingham, were in default in respect of the manor of Dorton, Buckinghamshire; they absented themselves from suit of court for three years.
In 1260 he was granted a weekly market and annual fair at his manors of Merston and Shepton, Somerset.
At an unknown date, he granted to the Hospital of St. Mary Magdalene half an acre of land in his demesne of Tale, Devon next the meadow they have of the gift of Roger de Tale. At an unknown date, Walter de Wanci quitclaimed to him a virgate of land in the town of Sheen, Surrey, which Walter had of the gift of Michael Belet. At an unknown date, he appointed William de Plessis as his attorney against the Prior of Sandleford on a plea of rent.
SIR ROBERT DE BEAUCHAMP died shortly before 25 October 1263.
Following his death, his widow, Alice, had a liaison with James de Audley, Knt. (died in Ireland about 11 June 1272) [see AUDLEY 8], by whom she had one illegitimate son, James. In 1263 James de Audley procured the wardship of the lands and heirs of her late husband, Robert de Beauchamp.
In 1265-6 Alice gave half a mark for a writ of pone in Berkshire.
In 1269-70 she sued for the recovery of lands at Parkham (in Sadborough), Devon. The same year Alice sued the Prior of Frithelstoke, Devon for land in Belstone, Devon, alleging that her husband had demised it to the Priory during her coverture; the prior called John, son of Robert de Beauchamp, to warrant.
About 1270 she released the manors of Fairlight, Sussex, Halewick, Middlesex, and Old, Northamptonshire to her son, James.
Sometime before 1272 Alice purchased the manor of Hardwick, Oxfordshire from Ralph d'Aundeley.
In 1272-3 she arraigned an assize of novel disseisin against James son of James de Audley, etc., touching a tenement in Horseheath, Cambridgeshire. In 1274 seisin of the wardship of the lands and heir of Hamon de Mascy were restored to her, she previously having them by grant of James de Audley, Knt. (died 1272).

=== Biographical Notes ===
There is no record of the Alice who married Robert Beauchamp being a widow of Clinton. This is probably 2 different people being mistaken for one another.
From FMG: ROBERT de Beauchamp of Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset (-1251). Domesday Descendants records that the daughter and heiress of Robert de Beauchamp of Hatch married "Simon de Vautort (d. 1199)" and that "her son assumed her name and succeeded as Robert [IV] de Beauchamp (d. 1251)" (no corresponding primary source cited)[1142]. "Robert de Bello Campo son of Simon" granted commercial rights in Merston free from tolls to Bruton by undated charter[1143]. A writ dated 16 Dec "31 Hen III", after the death of "Nicia de Clinton" names "William de Parys knt her son is her heir" and "Aston township" in Buckinghamshire "Robert de Bello Campo holds in dower with Alice his wife 40 l land and Lady Eva de Clynton holds 20 l land in dower"[1144]. An undated writ, after the death of "Robert de Bello Campo the elder", names "Robert his son aged --- is his heir" and lists manors in Somerset "Stokes…Merstan…Scepton…Hacche…Compton"[1145]. m ALICE de Mohun, daughter of REYNOLD de Mohun of Dunster, Somerset & his wife Alice Briwere. Robert & his wife had two children:
i) ROBERT de Beauchamp . An undated writ, after the death of "Robert de Bello Campo the elder", names "Robert his son aged --- is his heir" and lists manors in Somerset "Stokes…Merstan…Scepton…Hacche…Compton"[1146]. "Robert de Bello Campo son of Simon" granted commercial rights in Merston free from tolls to Bruton by undated charter, later confirmed by "Robert son of Robert de Beauchamp son of Simon"[1147].
ii) JOHN de Beauchamp of Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset (before 1249-Hatch 24 Oct 1283, bur Stoke under Hamden[1148]). The primary source which confirms his parentage has not yet been identified. Inquisitions dated "Wednesday before Christmas Day 12 Edw I" following the death of "John de Bello Campo” name “John his son aged 10 on the feast of St James 11 Edw I is his next heir...Cecily late the wife of the said John...one of the sisters [mistake for daughters] and heirs of William de Fortibus”[1149]. m (1273 or before) CECILE de Vivonne, daughter of GUILLAUME de Vivonne "de Fortibus" & his wife Matilda de Ferrers of the Earls of Derby ([1256/57]-Stoke under Hamden 10 Jan 1320[1150]). Henry III King of England granted, 2 Aug 1259, "the wardship of the lands late of William de Fortibus" to "Ingram de Percy, Peter de Chauuvent and Imbert de Muntferaunt" and the marriages of the deceased’s four daughters, to Peter the marriage of "one of the remaining three as he shall choose" (10 March 1262 = Cecily)[1151]. Her parentage is confirmed by the Somersetshire Pleas for 15 Jul 1269 which include a record that "Aunsell de Gurnay and his wife Sibyl" warranted "Emery de Roche Chaward, son of Emery de Roche Chaward, and Joan his wife, Sibyl, Mabel and Cecily, the daughters and heirs of William de Fortibus" relating to land in "Corfton"[1152]. Her marriage is confimed by a petition to the king dated to [1281] by "Peter de St Hillare" relating to land at Corston, Somerset which names "Aunsel de Gunney, Sibyl wife of Aunsel de Gunney, Reginald father of Aunsel de Gunney, Joan wife of Reginald de Gunney, Guy de Rochicheward, Sibyl wife of Guy de Rochicheward, John de Beauchamp, Cecily wife of John de Beauchamp, Fulk de Archiake, Mabel wife of Fulk de Archiake, William de Forz"[1153]. Inquisitions dated "Wednesday before Christmas Day 12 Edw I" following the death of "John de Bello Campo” name “John his son aged 10 on the feast of St James 11 Edw I is his next heir...Cecily late the wife of the said John...one of the sisters [mistake for daughters] and heirs of William de Fortibus”[1154]. John & his wife had four children:
(a) JOHN de Beauchamp (25 Jul 1274-1336 after 20 Oct). Inquisitions dated "Wednesday before Christmas Day 12 Edw I" following the death of "John de Bello Campo” name “John his son aged 10 on the feast of St James 11 Edw I is his next heir...Cecily late the wife of the said John...one of the sisters [mistake for daughters] and heirs of William de Fortibus”[1155]. He was summoned to Parliament in 1299 whereby he is held to have become Lord Beauchamp. m JOAN, daughter of [--- Chenduit & his wife ---] (-9 Feb 1327).

(d) BEATRICE de Beauchamp (-before Oct 1347). A writ after the death of "Beatrice late the wife of Peter Corbet of Caus", dated "30 Aug 21 Edw III", names "Thomas Corbet…from whom issued Peter, Alice the elder daughter and Emma the younger", that "Peter" inherited, and after his death "Peter his son" who married "the aforesaid Beatrice" who devised the manor of Bynweston to "one John Corbet"[1157]. m firstly (3 May 1298) PIERS [II] Corbet, son of PIERS [I] Corbet & his first wife Joan de Mortimer ([1269/70]-before 29 Jan 1322). m secondly JOHN de Leyburn Lord Leyburn, son of ---.

Her parentage and second marriage are confirmed by a writ dated 2 Jan "33 Hen III", after the death of her son "William Paynel alias Painel" which names the manor of "…Huffeculm…with 10 l land which Fulk Painel gave to William Briwer the elder…but afterwards William Brewer the younger…bestowed the said land upon William Painel, father of this one, in free marriage with Alice his sister" in Devon[286]. "William Paynel" assigned "Alice de Mohun his wife and Hugh de Samford" to make part payments of debts "in each of the three years after starting out on his pilgrimage to the Holy Land" with the manor of Bampton as security, dated 27 Sep, although listed in the roll among other fines dated [Feb/Mar] 1228[287]. Henry III King of England ordered the sheriff of Devon to release "dotem suam...Willelmum filium et heredi predicti Willelmi" to "Alicia de Moyun que fuit uxor Willelmi Paynel", and confirmed the custody granted to “Hereberto filio Mathei”, dated 1228[288]. The king granted custody of "the land and heir of William Paynel to Herbert son of Matthew", saving to "Alice who was William’s wife…her…dower", dated 18 Nov 1228[289]. The Testa de Nevill includes a list of fees of William Briwere, dated 1234, records "porcio Alicie de Moyun"[290]. King Henry III commanded "Alicia de Moyun” not to dispose of “the ward of the land which William Cumin held of her as the heritage of Margery his wife” because of the disputed succession, dated 24 Jul 1236[291]. King Henry III, seeing that "Alicia de Moyun has deceived him by the suggestion that there was another lawful heir to the manor of Sturton than Margery daughter of William Cumin”, ordered the sheriff of Warwick “to give Alicia seizin as custodian to cause John de Cantilupe and the said Margery his wife to have such seizin”, dated 24 Jul 1236[292]. Reynold & his wife had three children:
i) REYNOLD de Mohun (-Tor Mohun, Devon 20 Jan 1258, bur Newenham). The primary source which confirms his parentage has not been identified.

ii) WILLIAM de Mohun (-Norton, Cornwall, 1265, bur Newenham). “Reginaldus de Mohun” donated “terra de Stortmanforde” to Clive abbey, for the soul of “piæ memoriæ Havisiæ de Mohun”, with the consent of “Willielmi de Mohun fratris mei”, by undated charter[293]. “Reginaldus de Moun” founded Newenham abbey, Devonshire, for the souls of “Willelmi Briwer senioris et Willelmi Briwer junioris et uxorum suarum...Hawisiæ de Moun et Isabellæ Basset uxorum mearum et Willielmi de Moun fratris mei”, by undated charter[294]. A manuscript records the death “III Kal Feb” 1257 of “dominus Reginaldus de Mohun fundator” and in 1265 of “Willelmus de Moun fundator huius monasterii et frater germanus supradicti Reginaldi, qui apud Nortun in Cornubia in manerio huius domus moriebatur”[295]. A manuscript records the burial at Newenham of “Willielmus de Moun, frater Reginaldi et alter fundator dictæ abbathiæ”[296].
