6 Oct 1225 - Staffordshire - Hervey Bagbot, summoned to answer the complaint of Roger Zouche- that he distrained upon the fee of said Roger in Blumhill & Bronton , when Roger had performed all he owed to said Hervey, for the fee he holds of him, whereby Margery Bagot, who holds the fee of said Roger, was damaged to the extent of 10m to which he produced proof - HERVEY appeared in court & admitted the distress & stated that he distrained upon the fee of said Roger owed after the death of his father & his brother - Roger stated : he owed no releif, because his father had been dead for 40yrs & his brother had then done homage & paid releif to said HERVEY & to Milicent the mother of said HERVEY & afterwards to HERVEY himself ; HERVY acknowledged that this was true & it is considered thet Margery be dismissed from the suit

Hervey succeeded to the Stafford fief in right of his wife, 1194. He was a knight. Per Cokayne's "Complete Peerage" (STAFFORD, p.170-171), he was in the king's service overseas in 1230. In 1234 he was one of those charged to conduct Daffyd (RIN 3505*), son of LLEWELYN THE GREAT (RIN1084), to the king. In 1236 he and two others were dictators of the truce in North Wales. Later that year he was called upon to enforce that truce.
