de Over Bradelegh
- Preferred Name: de Over Bradelegh[1]
- Gender: F
- Name+Should+Be+Left+Blank+If+Unknown: with note: Description: Possible Daughter of John de Over Bradelegh
Taking this information off of where her name should be when instead it should be left blank if no one knows who she is, not even a first name. Names only of the person should go in that space where it says Name! Nothing else. Makes it difficult for further research to be done when this type of name placement is a replacement for the person's name like this: Possible Daughter of John de Over Bradelegh. This is not her name!

- Title: Possible name for 1st wife of William Gerard II
Author: Annual Report of the Deputy Keeper of the Public Records, v26, p52 Calendar of Deeds, Inquisitions & Writs of Dower, Enrolled on the Plea Rolls of the County of Chester, Hen 3 & Edw 1
Publication: Name: http://books.google.com/books?id=q2TygdglrFYC&pg=RA3-PA52#v=onepage;
Note: 30 Edw 1 (1301-1302), Bradeleg Overe, Hawisia, who was the wife of John de, against William Gerard, Dower. [29, 30 Edw 1, m 4 d]
NOTE: This is not 100% proof!
Hawisia de Over Bradelegh, widow of John, claimed dower rights that she was due from William Gerard II. It was common practice for a widow to claim dower rights from their children. If William Gerard II’s 1st wife was already dead, it would explain why her name was not on Hawisia’s claim. We know William Gerard II remarried to Margaret, widow of John de Boydel, around 1309-1310, so it is very possible his 1st wife was already dead in 1301-1302.
