=== Basilia de Limesi, dau. of Gerardus de L ===
Basilia de Limesi, dau. of Gerardus de Limesi; b about 1050-5, in England; she m Hugh de Odingsells about 20 Hey II, or 1174 (Archæologia, XXXVIII: 272, and The Visitations of Nottingham, Harl. Soc, IV:75). Norf', Hundr' de Fugerhowe: Basilia de Lymesy est de don' sni R. & est maritata Hug' de Hodesell, p. dnm R. J. & valet terra ej in Kanedis C sol' (Testa de Nevill, p 285). On the 25 Nov 1213, Hugo de Hodingess and Basil his wife had lands inherited from John de Limesi, her brother, and their sons Hug. and Willm were mentioned by their parents (Rot de Oblatis et Finibus, p 507); from the previous record, it is evident that the issue of her brother John de Limesi were all dead in 1213.
Henry III, 1219. Michaelmas term. Pleas at Westminster in the King's 3d year and beginning of the 4ht. Basilia de Limses puts in her polace Adam de Limesi versus the Prior of Herfort in a plea of assize of last presentation. (Cal Doc Scot, I:131)
In 5 Hen III, or 1221, Hugh de Odinsells attended the King in person to the siege of Bitham Castle, co Lincoln. (Chauncy's Hist and Ant of Hertfordshire).
Circa 29 Oct 1223. Pleas in a month from the feast of St Michael claims versus Hugh de Hoddingesele, and Basilia his wife, that they shall warrant to him, along with David de Lindesi, 6 hides of land in Bradewelle that he holds of them, and claims by the charters of Alan de Lymesia and Gerard his son, father of said Basilia, and grandfather of said David, whose heirs they are (Cal Doc Scot I:152)
Hugh de Odinsells and Basilia de Limesi were both alive from 1224-27, when with David de Lindesi of Scotland, they had interests in John de Limesi's heritage, and in the heirs of Amabilis de limesi, whose identity remains undisclosed.
Hugh de Odingsells d. 1238-9 by the past authorities, but the chances are that he died before that date as his son Hugh died about that time. [Lindeseie/Limesi Families I:209-210]
