Raoul III de Fougères (born around 1204/1207 died onMarch 24, 1256) was the last Baron of Fougères from 1212 to 1256 .

Raoul III is the son of Geoffroy de Fougères and his wife. He succeeds his father under the tutelage of Pierre Mauclerc however during the civil war of 1230-1235, he opens his castle of Fougères to the troops of the King of France who came to suppress the revolt of Pierre de Dreux, then bailiff of the duchy and he is made in 1235 knight by King Louis IX of France . In 1240 from the right of his mother Mahaut (died in 1234) eldest daughter of Eudon III de Porhoët, he inherited 2/3 of the viscounty of Porhoët including: Josselin and its castle, Lanouée and its forest with the parish of Mohon. He then accompanies the king during the seventh crusade in 1248 1 . he had married Isabelle de Craon who gave him only one daughter Jeanne. TheJanuary 29, 1254, in the abbey church of Savigny , Raoul III married his only daughter Jeanne de Fougères to Hugues XII de Lusignan . He died two years later onMarch 24, 1256.
