=== Life Sketch ===
«b»Biography«/b»
Richard de Kingsley was the son of Ranulph, the son of Ranulph de Kingsley. His mother was Leuca, the widow of an unknown previous husband.
Randle the first Meschines, third earl of Chester, conferred Kingsley and a master-forestership in the forests of Mara and Mondrem (Bailywick of the Forest of Mara and Mondrem) on Richard's grandfather, Ranulph De Kingsley, in the reign of Henry I, before 1128.
Richard may have had one older brother, Ranulph de Kinsgley, who was married to Mabell de Moston.
«b»Richard de Kingsley married first an unknown woman and had six children with her:«/b»
1.) Ranulph aka Ralph de Kingsley, son and heir, who died without an heir;
2.) Amicia le Roter de Thornton, who was married to Randle le Roter de Thornton;
3.) Emma Gerard nee Kingsley, who was married to William Gerard;
4.) Agnes, who was married to William Lancelyn;
5.) Joan Done nee Kingsley who was married to Henry Done;
6.) Margaret, who was married to Richard de Cholmondeley, living 29 Henry III [1244].
Richard then married Joan the daughter and coheir of Alexander Sylvester, Lord of Stourton, and Forester of Wirral.
Joan and Richard did not have any children together, as Joan was "proved by a plea of William Stanley to a writ of quo warranto, exemplified under the seal of the Exchequer of Chester, to have died issueless."
In 1233, Richard recognised the right of Mabel de Moston, widow of Ranulph de Kingsley, to the township of Norley, which she held in dower.
Joan de Kingsley nee Sylvester, outlived her husband as she was living a widow in 29 Henry III [1244], so Richard died sometime between 1233 and 1244. Richard passed away in 1241.

===Confusion parentage of Kingsley children===There appears to be some confusion about the parents of Amicia, Emma, Agnes, Joan, Margaret and Ranulph,
Ormerod quotes from two documents which gives their father's name andtheir names and/or their spouses:#From Harl. MSS 2032 56b, in 29 Henry III the daughters of Richard de Kingsley are mentioned: "Nos Marageta et Amicia et Johanna, filiae Ricardi de Kingsley, ... in aqua de Wever"; and#From ''Cheshire Domesday'' refers to the heirs of Richard de Kingslegh: "Memorandum quod haeredes Ricardi de Kingslegh, scilit Willi'mus deSenevile, D'na Margeria Cholmondelegh, Ranulph le Roter, Willi'us Lancelyn, coram D'no N. de Wilib.
