  Richard Talmash, son of Petrus, owned the Manor of Stoke-Talmadge. He married Avicia, sister of Richard Tollard. In 1199 he and Richard Danvers pay a tax, ten marks. in Essex, that they may have the lands of theur ancestress, Mitilda Chevencheseul. About the year 1200 he and Alice , his wife, gave land in Stoke to the hospital. In 1245(31 Henry 3rd) he brought suit against his cousin, Richard de Anvers, regarding land once belonging to his grandfather , Hugh Talmash, at Tetsworth.(Assize Roll, Feet of Fines,Oxfordshire, 31 Henry 3rd.) He had sons Peter; Robert;married Alice de Crowell; Richard, ob.s.p.; William, monasticus de Talma, and Rudolph, monasticus de Talma.
