Early de Lucy History, Published by Norman Lucey (Internet): The Descendants of Adrian de Lucy The earliest known de Lucy is Adrian de Lucy (born approx. 1064) fromLucé, near Dromfront, Normandy, France and it is probable that the Normanfamilies of this name are all descended from him. Three main family trees exist: For Richard de Lucy (about 1089-14thJuly 1179) Chief Justiciar of England and excommunicated by Becket in1166 and 1169, Anthony de Lucy (1283-10th June 1343) Chief Justiciar ofIreland, Godfrey de Lucy (about 1124-11th September 1204) Bishop ofWinchester and Walter de Charlecote who married Cecily de Lucy (bornabout 1180), who are the ancestors of Sir Thomas Lucy of Charlecote (24thApril 1532-7th July 1600), Justice Shallow in Shakespeare's "The MerryWives of Windsor". The de Lucys are related to Hugh de Montfort-sur-Rislewho accompanied William the Conquerer at the Battle of Hastings in 1066and Richard & Geoffrey de Lucy signed the Magna Carta.
