Biography
Elias was probably born before 1146: a charter of 1167 or later records him, his wife Hawise and his son and heir Ralph making a grant to Belvoir Priory. By the 1160s he held estates in both Normandy and England.
He, his wife Hawise, and their sons Oliver and Ralph made a grant of an interest in a church at Saxelby and land at Driholm to Newhouse Priory, partly for the soul of William 'de Albeniaco' (d'Aubigny) who had given them the fee.
