=== Life Sketch ===
«b»Biography«/b»
William was an adult in charge of the barony by 1166, so he took over from his father some time between 1135 and 1166. Sanders (followed by Keats-Rohan in this) estimated that he died about 1169, leaving a young son Hubert who came of age only 1186, and then died in 1188.
A foundation story of Ixworth Priory celebrating his father, the founder of a convent there, names William's wife as Sarah de Munchensy, and their son and heir as Hubert.

Augustine's Order: and took* to Wife Alice de Colkirke, by whom he had IssuedWilliam his son and heir. Which William,* by Sarah de Mont∣chensi his Wifee, had Issue another Gilbert*f (but by mistake sometimes written Hubert) who in 12 Hen. 2. upon the Assessment of that Aid then levyed for marrying the King's daughter, certified g his Knights Fees to be in number twelve. This last mentioned Gilbert having weddedhAgnes de Lisle, begot on her Williami his son and heir; who being in minorityk at his Fathers death, be∣came Wardl to the Bishop of Ely; but in 32 Hen. 2. wasm thirty two years of age; the Lands where∣of he was possessed, beingn the Lordships of Yxe∣worth (his chief Seat) Esteldei and Walcham (in Com. - Title: The genealogical history of the Croke family, originally named Le Blount by Croke, Alexander, Sir, 1758-1842 Published 1823
Author: pages 33-42 give the conjecture of William le Blounts grandfather Robert that entered England with William the conquerer and his son Gilbert and his ancestors...
Publication: Name: https://archive.org/stream/genealogicalhist01crok#page/32/mode/2up;
Note: Gives ancient pedigree of the Blounts. Note: There is no proof of Robert le Blounts father being that of Rudulph, other then the fact that his timeframe seems to fit the placement, this alone does not gaurantee fathership as many believe. The line should technically end there at that point in the records.

- Title: Appendix I of "Ancestors and Descendants of John Price: Immigrant to Virginia: 1610-11"
Note: Although the book is compiled by Vina Chandler Price, Appendix I was included at the request of Mrs. Margaret Scruggs Carruth, and was researched by Miss Kett and by Mr. H. E. Forrest (after the death of Miss Kett, which took before 1930). Both Miss Kett and Mr. Forrest were reputed to be professional genealogists. Mr Forrest is also referred to as the "Antiquarian Editor" of the Shrewsbury Chronicle
I looked H. E. Forrest online and found that he is also the editor of the following books:
--"Shrewsbury Burgess Roll", published in 1924 by the Shrewsbury and Shropshire Archaeological and Parish Register Society
--"The old Churches of Shrewsbury: Their History, Architecture and Associations", published in 1920 by Shrewsbury, Wilding & Son
--"Some Old Shropshire Houses and their Owners: Braggington (with a plate), Dinthill, Whitley, & Play-Y-Court", published in 1915 by Shropshire Archaeological & Natural History Society.
Margaret Scruggs Carruth is a charter member of "Daughters of the Barons of Runnemede". She served as Registrar when it was first organized, and is listed as member #22. To be eligible for membership, a person must descend from one or more of the Barons of Runnemede. The Barons forced King John to agree to the Magna Carta, a charter constituting a fundamental guarantee of rights and privileges. Mrs. Scruggs claims eligibility for membership through John Price who supposedly descended from eleven of the Barons.
Appendix I provides two different lineages. One is from Robert Fitzwalter (who was one of the Barons of Runnemede) to John Price (born 1584-5), and the titular character of this book. The 2nd is from Elystan Glodrydd app Cyhelin ap Ifor (933-1010) (who was Prince of Ferlllys and founder of the Fourth Royal Tribe of Wales) back to the same John Price.
Page: William is identified as: the 5th feudal baron le Blount or Blunt, & a Crusader; the father of Roesia (wife of Robert (2nd lord de Valoines; a Crusader 1218 in the famous siege of Dameitta); grandfather of Gunora de la Valoines (the wife of Robert Fitzwalter (1st Gen, pp. 514-515); and great grandfather of Sir Walter Fitzwalter (2nd Gen, pg. 515)
