Notes
Although there have long been suggestions that he must be a member of the Arches family of William, of Folkestone, researchers have concluded many times that no connection can be proven so far.
Keats-Rohan's Domesday People entry p.314 calls him Osbern de Arcis. He was a tenant in chief in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
His son William's entry in Domesday Descendants p.288 is William de Arcis.
Children (as per Domesday People)
His son William had taken over by the time of the Lindsey Survey in 1115-1118.
He also had a daughter Agnes who married Herbert St Quintin first, and secondly Robert de Fauconberg.
Keats-Rohan also speculates that he may be the ancestor of other Arcis/Arches families in England, Peter and Gilbert who were living around 1130, but he is not son of William d'Arques, lord of Folkestone (who had two important heiresses to his barony).
Keats-Rohan (and prior authors) state that the family name comes from Arques-la-Bataille in Normandy.

Notes
Three brothers, parents unknown, but their names suggest a Viking origin:
1. Osbern de Bolbec: son of ... (-bur Saint-Etienne de Fontaines); married firstly Aveline, sister of Gunnora, mistress of Richard I Duke of Normandy; As noted below, another primary source indicates the wife of "Osbernus Giffardus" was named Hawise. It is not known whether Osbern was married twice or whether all the sojurces cited refer to the same person, one or other mistaking the name.; married secondly Hawise, daughter of ... (-bur Saint-Etienne de Fontaines).; A manuscript at Caen, which commemorates ..., names Osbernus Giffardus among the deceased at "sancti Stephani Fontanensis", presumably indicating that they were buried there. If this is correct, Hawise was presumably his second wife, unless "Aveline" is an error for "Hawise".; Osbern & his first/second wife had four children:
