  Sa filiation et son mariage sont confirmés par la charte de 1090 selon laquelle « Adelais comitissa filia quondam bonæ memoriæ comitis et marchionis Amedei » confirmait les donations de « Manasses dominus de Coloniaco quondam maritus meus » à Nantua, pour l'âme de « patris sui Manassis » , signé par " Humbertus et Manasses filii mei " [120] . Sa date de naissance est estimée à partir du nom de ses fils en 1090 et en tenant compte de la date de naissance estimée de son père.
