The only daughter of Louis VI, King of France and Adele of Savoy, who had only sons, she was married in February 1140 by her brother, King Louis VII, to Eustache, eldest son and heir of Stephen of Blois, King of England.
After Eustatius's death in August 1153, she was remarried on August 10, 1154 to Raymond V (†1194), Count of Toulouse. From this union were born four children:
Raymond VI (1156-1222), Count of Toulouse
Albéric Taillefer (1157-1183), first husband of Béatrice d'Albon, dauphine of Viennese
Adelaide († c. 1200), wife (1171) of Roger II of Béziers († 1194) (of the Trencavels), vicomte of Carcassonne, Béziers, Albi and Razès
