=== Life Sketch ===

The first recognised Vicomte de Porhoët was Guithenoc (abt. 990-1040CE), was born in Guilliers. He married Allurum of Guilliers. He became Vicomte, and in about 1008 he moved to La Trinite, in Porhoët. Both Guilliers and Porhoët are located in the modern day French departement of Morbihan in the province of Brittany.
In Porhoët Guethenoc built Joscelin Castle, which he named for his son, Joscelin (1020–1074). It is still owned by the descendants of Porhoët and is the longest continuously held private estate in the world.
Vicomte Joscelin de Porhoët had three sons with the surname Rohan: Mainguy De Rohan, Jostho de Rohan, and Roger de Rohan. He had a fourth son, the third vicomte de Porhoët, Eudo I de Porhoët (1049-?).
Eudo (or Eudes) I married Anne de Leon (1065-?). They had two children, Vicomte Geoffrey de Porhoët (1092–1141) and Alain I de Rohan
Geoffrey is said to have married Hawisa Fergant of Brittany (abt. 1105-?). They had two sons, one of which was as Odo II or Odo II, Viscount of Porhoët (1122-?).
The title Count of Porhoët was joined to the Breton Ducal crown. Pierre Mauclerc bestowed the title on his daughter Yolande; upon her death the title was rejoined to the Duchy by her brother John I.

Born in 985 at Guilliers (Mord), France. Married Allarum ______. By heritage and marriage was Viscount de Bretagne, de Renne, and de Chateautro-en-Porhoet
∼
He was born about 990, and died about 1040. His wife, Allarum, was born about 994, in Guilliers, Morbihan, Bretagne.
Guethenoc, Vicomte de Château en Porhoët, founder of the House de Porhoët, which strengthened that of Rohan, built the first foundations of the Château, without a name, on land owned by l’Abbaye de Redon, which the historians of Bretagen (Brittany) had before called the Château de Joscelin, which gives reason to believe that this Château followed the Cartulaire of l’Abbaye of Saint-Sauveur de Redon, which was built by his son Josselin. The same Guethenoc made a donation to l’Abbaye of Mont-Saint-Michel of some property located in Porhoët. The Charter, so mentioned, titled Charter of Porhoët, was signed by his wife Allarum, and by their sons Joscelin, followed by Mainguy and Tutgal. He is named in two Charters of l’Abbaye of Redon, one in the year 1008, and the other in the year 1021. For Mainguy and Tutgal, their other sons, we only know their names from the gift Charter of l’Abbaye de Mont-Saint-Michel....
Joselin or Gosselin.... died in 1074, & was buried next to Guethenoc, his father, in the Abbey of Redon.]
