- Preferred Name: Robert de Malet le Normandy[1]
- Gender: M
- http://familysearch.org/v1/TitleOfNobility: Seigneur de Granville

- Nationality: Mercia, England with note: Mercia, (from Old English Merce, “People of the Marches [or Boundaries]”), one of the most powerful kingdoms of Anglo-Saxon England; it held a position of dominance for much of the period from the mid-7th to the early 9th century despite struggles for power within the ruling dynasty. Mercia originally comprised the border areas (modern Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and northern West Midlands and Warwickshire) that lay between the districts of Anglo-Saxon settlement and the Celtic tribes they had driven to the west. It later absorbed the Hwicce territory (the rest of West Midlands and Warwickshire, eastern Hereford and Worcester, and Gloucestershire) and spread also into what was later Cheshire, Salop, and western Hereford and Worcester. Mercia eventually came to denote an area bounded by the frontiers of Wales, the River Humber, East Anglia, and the River Thames.

=== Father died two years before his birth? ===
unlikely that a Norman noble would be the offspring Anglo Mercian nobles at this point in history.
=== Father was born in 933 AD not 995 AD ===
Father was born in 933 AD, then died in 1033 AD.
Son was born in 995 AD, then died in 1077 AD
Seigneur de Graville
Killed in battle.
Domesday Lord
=== Dates completely wrong ===
How could this gentleman have taken part in the battle of Hastings etc he died years before. I think this record has been merged with others.
=== How could he be a Domesday lord? ===
This Robert Malet died in 1059, almost 25 years BEFORE Domesday Book was compiled.
