  In the year 870, he is said to have built the castle of Whittington. Wolcott, however, observes that "he may have resided at Whittington but the castle was still over 150 years in the future for Wales. The first stone castle at Whittington was built on the site of an earlier hill fort in the 13th century.

  He married Rheingar, daughter and sole heir of Lludoca ap Caradoc Vreichfras, Lord of Hereford, in South Wales. Their son was Tudor Trevor.
