=== Brief history ===
The castle was built in Sablé last third of the tenth century by the Count of Maine, Maine Hugues III. He then built the church of Saint-Malo. He later gave allegiance to his brother Viscount, Geoffroy, and this is the only gift of this nature has been done safely and fully in Maine by the Count, because Mayenne and Laval have not even been delegated without interference from the Count of Anjou.
