=== Life Sketch ===
Count of Leon
Born around 800 - -, Finistère, Brittany, FRANCE
Deceased
King of Brittany (818-826)
Louis-le-Débonnaire was far from having finished with Armorica: from 822, Guiomarck or Wiomarck, son or nephew of Morvan, and who claimed the title of his successor, raised the Bretons, fought the Franks, the conquered first and had himself proclaimed king. But his reign was short-lived: the emperor again rushed towards Brittany; it was again conquered in 824, in the space of forty days, and Louis, furious at so many rebellions, set fire and sword to this unhappy land. Guiomarck, retired to one of his castles, vanquished but not overwhelmed, was meditating a new rebellion, when, watched and surprised by agents of Lambert Count of the Marches of Poitou, governor of Nantes, this prince, indefatigable in the revolt, was put to death.
