Meyrick ap Llywelyn (Owen), living at 1451, married Margaret daughter of Ieuan Fychan of Pengwern ap Ieuan ap Adda of mostyn, descended from Tudor Trevor, Meyrick lived at Bodeon also known as Bodowen in Llangadwaladr parish, about nine miles south of Bodedern, which became the main Anglesey seat of his descendants, the Owen's. A stained glass window was placed in the parish church to commemorate Meyrick ap Llywelyn ap Hwlcyn and Margaret his wife , and their son owen ap Meyrick and his wife Elen daughter of Robert Meredith of “Glynlleon”(Glynllifon, Caernarvonshire).
“Son” Meyrick ap Owen fought at Bosworth, he married Elen ferch Robert ap Meredydd ap Hwlcyn Llwyd of Glynllifon, by whom he had Hugh ab Owen, John ap Owen of Bodsilin and Annes. Owen died in 1530. His successor, hug hap owen Married Gwen daughter of morris ap John ap Maredudd of Clenennau. A descendant of the prince Owain Gwynedd. From this union there were three sons and here we are concerned only with the eldest, Owen of Bodeon.

Note: Sir Hugh the 2nd Baronet lived firstly at Landshipping, a family property on the eastern banks of Cleddau, and after succeeding at Orielton. He matriculated at Christ Church College, Oxford on 7 December 1660, aged 15, and was a member of the Inner Temple in 1664.
Through his first marriage he added very considerably to his estate. In 1664 he married his second cousin Anne only daughter and heiress of Henry Owen of Maesoglen, Anglesey, also heiress of her uncle Colonel Hugh Owen of Bodeon thereby bringing the original Owen estates in Anglesey back to the main line. ...
He served as High Sheriff in 1664, was Member of Parliament for Pembroke Boroughs from April to December 1660, and again from 1676 to 1679. He then took the county seat and sat from 1678 to 1681, and again from 1689 to 1695. He served as High Sheriff of Anglesey in 1688.
Sir Hugh married a second wife, Katherine widow of Lewis Annwyl of Park, Merioneth, daughter of William Griffith of Lleyn, Caernarvonshire. Sir Hugh died at Bristol on 13 January 1698-9, scarcely a month before his wife, aged 83, and was buried in St Augustine’s church in that city where a marble monument was raised to his memory. His will was proved in 1699. Katherine died without issue on the following February and was buried at her own desire in St Twynells church. In the administration of her goods granted from PCC on 9 June 1699 she is described as ‘of Long Shipping‘.
By the first wife. Sir Hugh had the following children:
1. Sir Arthur, 3rd Baronet, to whom I shall return.
2-5. Henry, another Henry, John, William, all died young.
6. Wyrriot Owen, admitted to Grays Inn on 1 February 1697. He was a Member of Parliament for Pembrokeshire in 1705-10, and High Sheriff in 1715. He lived at Robeston House and at Talbenny. By his wife, Dorothy, widow of Sackville Crow (died 1700), daughter of Arthur Cozens of Johnston, he had no issue. She died in 1704. He died eleven years later and was buried at Monckton, and by his will, proved on 28 April 1715 he left all his possessions to his nephew and namesake, Wyrriot Owen of Nash, Langum parish.
7. Charles Owen, settled at his wife's home, Nash, Langum parish. She was Dorothy daughter and coheiress (and in her issue sole heiress) of Erasmus Corbett of Nash, by Anne Mathias of Llangwarren. Charles (who served as High Sheriff in 1714) died in 1716 aged 30, and was buried at Langum. His will dated 24 February 1715-16 was proved at Carmarthen on 24 February 1715-16. They had issue.
8. Catherine, married John Williams of Chester, barrister (called to the bar from Grays Inn in 1686) second son of Sir William Williams of Llanforda and Glascoed, Baronet. His father's properties in Anglesey, and at Bodelwyddan (Flintshire) were settled on him at the time of his marriage. In 1702 John was appointed Attorney General of counties Denbigh and Montgomery, and, in 1727, of Chester and Flint. Their only child and heiress, Anne married her first-cousin Sir William Owen, 4th Baronet of Orielton.
9. Elizabeth, married firstly, William Lewis Annwyl of Park, Merioneth, and secondly a Mr Brereton, who died before 1689. She is mentioned in the will of her brother Sir Arthur Owen in 1725 as “my sister Brereton".
10. Anne, married firstly, as his second wife, John Barlow of Lawrenny (High Sheriff in 1705) who died in 1718; and secondly, the Hon. Thomas Cornwallis (d. 1732). By her first husband she had (i) Hugh Barlow who married firstly Anne Skyrme, and secondly his cousin Elizabeth daughter of Sir Arthur Owen of Orielton; (ii) Anne Barlow who married her cousin Wyrriot Owen of Nash; and (iii) Dorothy
Barlow who married John Lort of Pricaston.
11. Mary married in 1700 Edward Wogan son of Lewis Wogan of Boulston. He was born on 26 March 1674 and admitted to Grays Inn on 27 June 1694. He died without issue in his father’s lifetime before 1702.
12. Dorothy died young.
