Biography Meurig ap Caradog was born in 492, the son of Sir Caradoc, one of King Arthur's knights. He ruled over Hereford from 508 and Gliwissig and Gwent from 530 to 550, as he was married to the Gwentish ruler Dyfwn ferch Glywys. On his death, all of his titles went to their son Erbic ap Meurig.
