Lloyd Manuscript says, "Elisau, who was a juror for the County of Merioneth in 27 Henry VI. [1448/1449] and held in farm the office of Raglot of the Comote of Penllyn at Michaelmas [29 September], 12 Edward IV. [1472/1473], anno 1473. He became possessed of Plas yn Ial in right of his wife Margaret, only daughter and heiress of Jenkyn of Allt Llwyn, now called Plas yn Ial, ap Ieuan ap Llewelyn of Bodidris, ap Gruffydd Llwyd, of Gelli Gynan, and in right of his wife of Bodidris; she being Tangwystl daughter and heiress of Ieuaf ap Maredydd ap Madog of Bodidris. Gruffydd Llwyd was a son of Llewelyn ap Ynyr, Lord of Gelli Gynan, by Margaret daughter of Gruffydd ap Iorwerth ap Ieuaf of Llwyn On, in Maelor Gymraeg. He greatly distinguished himself in battle, and for his service had a grant of the Manor of Gelli Gynan, together with the grant of a new coat of arms, from Gruffydd Maelor, Prince of Powys Fadog."

VI. Griffith Lloyd ap Ellis, m. 1st, Mary, dau. of Meuric Vaughan, of Nanney, co. Merioneth, by whom he was ancestor of the LLOYDS OF CAROG; and 2ndly, Lowry, dau. of Griffith ap Llewelyn, of Halkyn, and from this marriage derive the LLOYDS OF RHAGATT, co. Merioneth.
I. Margaret, m. 1st, Ievan ap Howel, of Rug-yn-Edeirnion, derived from Bleddyn, second son of Owen Brogyntyn, Lord of Edeirnion, Dinmael, and Abertanat, and had a dau. and co-heiress, Margaret, whom. Pyers Salusbury, Esq. of Bachymbyd, and 2ndly, Howel Vychan ap Howel ap David, derived from Ririd Flaidd, Lord of Penllyn, in Merioneth.
II. Angharad, m. Morris ap John, of Clenenneu, Rhiwaedog, and Park, derived from Owen Gwynedd, Prince of North Wales, and had three sons 1. William Lloyd, of Rhiwaedog, whose direct male line terminated with William Lloyd, Esq. of Rhiwaedog, whose sister was mother of William Lloyd Dolben, Esq. of Rhiwaedog; 2. Ellis, of Clenenneu, ancestor of the Morices of that place, of whom Sir William Morice, of Clenenneu, m. the heiress of the Lacons of Llanddyn and Porkington, and the heiress of the three houses m. John Owen, Esq., (fourth son of Robert Owen, of Bodsilin,) secretary to the minister Walsingham, the eldest son of which marriage was the memorable Sir John Owen, of Porkington, Llanddyn, and Clenenneu, represented as heir-general by Mrs. Ormsby Gore, of Porkington; 3. Robert, ancestor of the Anwyls of Park, whose heiress m. Sir Gruffudd Williams, of the house of Penrhyn, and their dau. and heir, Anna, m. 1st, Sir Thomas Prendergast, and 2ndly, a gentleman of the same name, but dying issueless, her estates passed away by different alienations.
III. Gwynhwyfar, m. John Eyton, son of John Eyton, of Rhuabon (subsequently Watstay, and now Wynnstay,) co. Denbigh.
IV. Lowry, m. Reinallt ap Griffith, of Branas-yn-Edeirnion, second son of Griffith ap Rhys, of Crogen and Branas, son of Rhys ap Ievan, Baron of Kymmer, Crogen, and Branas in Edeirnion, and from this marriage derived the LLOYDS OF CROGEN and the BRANAS'S of BRANAS.

Elissau, Baron of Gwyddelwern, who married Margaret, daughter and heir of Jenkyn of Allt Llwyn Dragon, now called Plâs yn Iâl, a younger son of Ieuan ab Llywelyn ab Gruffydd Llwyd of Bodidris. Her mother was Lleucu, daughter of Llywelyn ab Ednyfed of Sonlli (see vol. ii). By this lady Elissau had seven sons--
I. Gruffydd ab Elissau, ancestor of the Lloyds of Carrog and Rhagad.
II. John Wynn of Bryn Tangor.
III. Richard of Meardy in Gwyddelwern. He married Gwen, daughter of Ieuan ab Dafydd ab Ieuan ab Gwin of Branas Isaf, one of the Barons of Edeyrnion. Argent, on a chev. gules, three fleurs-de-lis or.
IV. Jenkyn.
V. Tudor of Llys Fassi, who married Eleanor, daughter of John Conwy of Bodrhuddan, by whom he had an only daughter and heiress, Gwenhwyfar, who married Edward Lloyd of Gelli Gynan, ancestor of the Lloyds of Llys Fassi.
VI. Ieuan Lloyd of Rhagad in Edeyrnion.
VII. David Lloyd, of whose line we have to treat. Some authorities say that he was the eldest son.

Denbigh, brother of Tudor ap levan, derived through levan ap Ynyr o' Yal, Lord of Gelligynan, from Sandde Hardd, Lord of Burton. By the heiress of Plas-yn-Yale, Ellis ap Griffith, who is stated to have died 1489, had issue, seven sons and four daughters, as follows:

13 Thomas Yale was Captain in the Army of Charles I. He married in 1649, Dorothea, daughter of Humphrey Hughes, Esq., Baron of Kymmer, in Edeyrnion, and had a son, Humphrey Yale, from whom the late Miss Sarah Yale, the last of the direct line of the family, was descended. By her will, which was proved in 1821, she entailed the Plas yn Iâl estates upon William Parry, fourth son of Thomas Parry Jones Parry of Madryn, Esq., M.P., grand nephew of Miss Yale's mother. William Parry Jones Parry, in compliance with the above will, assumed the name of Yale, and is the present Lieut. Col. Yale of Plas-yn-Yale.
