Another, though less likely, identification for the Leominster Member is John Morgan of Bassaleg, Monmouthshire, son of Thomas Morgan of Machen, esquire of the body, by Elizabeth, daughter of Roger Vaughan of Porthaml, Breconshire. He married (1) Anne, daughter of Lewis ap John of Baglan, Glamorgan; (2) Maud, daughter of Richard Jenkins of Llanowen (?Llanoethin, Glam.), and had five sons including Henry Morgan I, customer of Cardiff, and four daughters.4

From the Morgan Family History (online at http://www.hausegenealogy.com/morgan.html):
THOMAS MORGAN (1474 - 1538), acted as Esquire to the body of King Henry VII and built Plas Machen after his lord gained the throne of England at Bosworth Field in 1485. The Morgans were rewarded and were allowed to purchase the manors of Bedwellty and Mynyddislwyn. They were rather unpromising lands back then, but the soil contained rich mineral deposits that added greatly to the fortune of future members of the Morgan family. Thomas married Elizabeth (b. 1474), daughter of Sir Roger Vaughan of Brecon, and many of their children were set up in estates of their own (the Morgans really were more of a clan than simply a family and had cadet branches all over South Wales). Their children included:

Biography
"Thomas Morgan, Esq., of Machen, Esquire of the Body to King Henery VII, 2nd son of John Morgan, Knt., of Machen, by Janet, daughter and co-heiress of John ap David Mathew, of Llandaff" married Elizabeth Vaughan, daughter of "Roger Vaughan, Knt., of Porthaml (in Talgarth), Breconshire" and Joan Whitney, daughter of "Robert Whitney, Esq., of Whitney, Herefordshire" and his wife "Constance Audley (or Tuchet)". They had four sons and six daughters: Roland, Rheinault, John, and Edmund; Margred, Jane, Constance, Elizabeth, Mary, and Margred [sic]. Thomas was living in 1538.[1]
Birth
about 1480[citation needed]
Family
"Sir John is the subject of a cywydd moliant by the bard Gwilym Tew written c. 1460, in which mention is made of Sir John 's journey to Jerusalem, where he was created a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre. Sir John, who was a strong supporter of the Lancastrian cause, . . was one of the receivers of petitions in the first Parliament of Henry VII , by whom he was knighted, made steward of Machen , sheriff of Gwynllwg and Newport, and constable of Newport (see Howel T. Evans : Wales and the Wars of the Roses). His will is dated 26 Oct. 1491, and he probably d. in 1492. Sir John Morgan had ten children, of whom the eldest was Sir MORGAN JOHN, who was knighted after the battle of Blackheath in 1497 and d. in 1504 . His second son, THOMAS, an esquire of the body to Henry VII , was the ancestor of the branch at Machen, which later became the senior branch of the family. Sir Morgan John 's eldest son, JOHN MORGAN, probably d. in 1513, as his will is dated 4 April in that year. His eldest son, WILLIAM MORGAN, was high sheriff of Monmouthshire in 1565 and d. without issue in 1569 (will dated 8 Aug. 1568 and proved 27 June 1569). By this will he named MILES MORGAN, the son of his illegitimate brother JOHN, as his heir. Miles Morgan in 1571 m. Catherine, the daughter of ROWLAND MORGAN (living in 1580) of Machen, the eldest son of Thomas, the second son of Sir John Morgan."[2]
Research Notes
Morgan Hywel Wolfe was probably born in the early 1400s, too early to have fathered Barbara who was probably born about 1518 as her son John, probably her youngest child, was aged 18 at his father's death in 1578. [Seymour Dawn by Robin Forbes Patterson (1999): 253, citing House of Commons 1509-1558, Members by S T Bindoff]. It is therefore suggested she was a daughter of his grandson "Thomas d'd Morgan, alias woulf [Llyfr Baglan: 318; WG: WOLF 2]. This man is the only Thomas on the Wolf pedigree, and is of the right generation.[3]

Author: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Morgan-854 Contents [hide] 1 BiographyBirth about 1480[citation neededResearch Notes Morgan Hywel Wolfe was probably born in the early 1400s, too early to have fathered Barbara who was probably born about 1518 as her son John, probably her youngest child, was aged 18 at his father's death in 1578. This man is the only Thomas on the Wolf pedigree, and is of the right generation.[3] 1.1 Birth 1.2 Family 2 Research Notes 3 Sources
