  Matthew Hulgreve is said to have passed, together with Erdswick, in marriage with the heiress of Reginald de Baillot, according to some pedigrees to (1)Hugh de Vernon of Shipbrook, and according to others to Warin his son. Both these estates were granted to Matthew, younger son of Warin Vernon, and were divided by his son of the same name [Matthew], who gave Erdswick to his youngest son Richard, who assumed the local appellation.
