  Aldonza González Girón was one of the daughters of Gonzalo Rodríguez Girón (sometimes referred to as Gonzalo Ruiz Girón) and his first wife, Sancha Rodríguez de Torono.
  
  Her birth date is unknown, but as her parents married about 1185, and her mother died sometime between 1209 and 1212 it has to be in that period. As Aldonza was married by 1222 (see below) an estimate of about 1200 has been used.
  
  On 8 May 1222 Aldonza affirmed the gift of a hospital and all its rights and privileges to the episcopal see of Palencia, along with her father, stepmother and her siblings from both marriages, and at this time she was already married to Ramiro Fróilaz, son of Count Froila Ramírez and Sancha Fernández. Ramiro is in some secondary sources named as Ramiro de Cifontes (or Cifuentes), perhaps because he was Senor de Cifontes.

  1.) Gonzalo Ramirez, died sometime between 1255 and 1259;
  
  2.) Teresa Ramirez, who married before November 1262, Enrique (or Manrique) Gil, Adelantado mayor de León, and died after 1276;
  
  3.) Aldonza Ramirez, Abbess of Otero from 1247 to 19 April 1295 and died after that date. Sometimes she is named as the wife of Fernán González de Henestrosa, but again it is not clear if this is before she became Abbess or an alternative proposition.
  
  Aldonza González Girón and her husband Ramiro Fróilaz are both stated to have died after 1240 but it's not clear what the source is for this date.
