=== Notes and sources for Walter... ===
Manor of Pickwell, Leicestershire:
The descent of the CAMVILLE FEE will be considered first. Under Henry II Walter de Camville held land at Pickwell which had apparently been in the possession of the Camville family before he inherited it. Walter was succeeded by his son Roger. By 1279 the Camville fee at Pickwell and Leesthorpe was being held as 3 knights' fees by Andrew of Astley, or Eastley, whose father Thomas is said to have married Roger's sister and co-heir. The 3 knights' fees continued to be held by the Astley family until at least 1361, when Thomas of Astley was in possession.

NOTE: I believe there were a few more generations between Thomas, who m. the Camville heiress, & Andrew Astley, living in 1279.
=== This Thomas was s. and h. of Walter A., ===
This Thomas was s. and h. of Walter A., who was s. and h. of Thomas A. (who by his wife Maud, sister and h. of Roger Camville of Creek [1210] had much increased the familiy estates), s. and h. of Philip A., lord of Astley, co. Warwick, in 1165. [Complete Peerage]
