  Velasquita is only known from the Codice de Roda, which names her as daughter of count Galindo Aznarez II of Aragon by his second wife, Sancha Garces, half-sister of king Sancho Garces I.

  Scholars have speculated that she might be ancestor of an 11th century noblewoman named Endregota, married to count Sancho Maceratiz, who described Queen Andregoto, Velasquita's sister, as her 'avuncula' - (ancestral) aunt.
