He was a Leonese nobleman, a member of the Flaínez lineage, and the son of Osorio González . Although not much is known about his life, he is the link that leads to the Osorio family who were marquises of Astorga and counts of Lemos.
He had already died in 1261 when his widow and children filed a lawsuit with the Monastery of San Pedro de Montes over San Román de Ornillas.

Rodrigo Rodríguez Osorio who was in the conquest of Seville where he received distribution in 1253. In 1273 he was a major merino from the land of León as well as a tenant of the towers of that city . [ 2 ] [ 3 ]

↑ In the documentation of the Monastery of San Pedro de Montes, the name of his wife and children appear in 1261 and 1272 in a lawsuit between the monastery and Donna Elvira Ferrandez and those of Rodrigo Rodríguez and Álvar Rodríguez, these latter of Rodrigo Osoyris and Donna Elvira Fernández .
