  WARREN, (WARINE), married Hawise (Havissa), Countess of Lincoln, in her own right, widow of Sir Roger de Quenci, and daughter of Hugh Kevelioc, Palatine Earl of Chester, (See Saxon Line, i, No. 62).
  
  "The English pedigrees deduce the line of the Bostocks from him (Osmer) and tate that his fifth descendent, Sir Warin de Bostock, married Hawise, countess of Lincoln in her own right, widow of Rober deQuenci and daughter of Hugh Keveliok, Earl of Chester.. Dr. Williamson, an eminent English scholar, says: "W may be assured by inquisition, 2 Henry II (1150), "t Warine de Bostock, 2d husband of Hawise, daughter of Hugh Kyvelyoc, Earl of Chester, was y(e) son of Randle, son of Adam de Bostock". On what authority this marriage is stated, is not known, but it is certain that Hawsie de Quenci had a grant of the earldom of Lincolm from her brother, as late as 17 Henry III (1233), being then widow of Rober de Quenci.
  
  The descent of Warine, as given by Williamson, differs from the pedigree of Booth, which makes him son of William, son of Gilber, son of Rober, son of Richar, son of Hugh Fitz Richard, son of Osmer. This is also the pedigree as given in the Harleian Manuscripts in the British Museum."

  He is mentioned in an inquisition in 1155 as the second husband of Hawise Kyvelioc, and his descent from Randle de Bostock and Adam de Bostock is given. This version of Sir Warin's ancestry is supported by Dr. Williamson, and by Ormerod. The alternative version, discounted by Ormerod, is taken from Harleyan Manuscript 1535, supported by Booth, and shows Sir Warin as descended from Osmer and Hugh Fitz Richard (see the Alternate Version of Part 1 of the family tree).
