  Elizabeth Andrews was the daughter of Joseph Andrews and Elizabeth (maiden name unproven but some say Hatch). She is named in her father's will as Elizabeth Emes. (continue reading)
  
  There are two schools of thought about her birth. One is that Joseph followed birth order in writing his will, thereby making Elizabeth the oldest of his children living at the time of his death. Since the next daughter named, Hannah Gannett, died in 1700 and was said to be aged 78, that means Elizabeth would have been born earlier, say 1621, and in England before the family came to Massachusetts (presumably Devon, as her father was said to be from there).
  
  Since Elizabeth was named in the will as Emes/Eames, and since Mark Eames was known to have married in Hingham a woman named Elizabeth (New England Marriages Prior to 1700), the assumption by most is that Elizabeth Andrews married Mark Eames. There is a record that Mark married in Hingham on 26 May 1648 and the first of his children was born in 1649.
  
  The second school of thought notes that there is a baptismal record for Elizabeth Andrews in Hingham for March 1638 (Peter Hobart's Journal). Assuming this was an infant baptism, this makes her too young to be the wife of Mark Eames. That also means she would have married a different unknown Eames. It would also mean that her father Joseph did not follow birth order in writing his will, which would challenge some assumptions for other children.
  
  Mark's wife is not named in his will, so she died before he wrote the will in July 1693. Presumably she died in Marshfield where Mark Eames and his family lived. I have not seen a death record for her.
  
  I have a "watch" on this record and welcome anyone who has sources to clear up the dilemma.

  Joseph and Elizabeth Andrews are her parents. , England. She married Mark Eames of Marshfield on 26 May 1648. They had Elizabeth Eames in 1649 and Anthony Eames in 1657. Childrens list:
