Glover. Will, obviously an oral one, was written up and dated ten days after his burial. His wife survived him and was co-executor with son Robert. Proved 15 Sep 1552. This family went by the surname of "LOKER alias RIDDLESDALE," or "RIDDLESDALE alias LOKER." No one seems to know which is the original name. It is possible that the original name is REDYSDALE or RYDYSDALE or even REEDS- DALE. They apparently lived in that part of Bures which lies south of the the River Stour and is in the county of Essex. !SOURCE: NEHGR Vol 143 pp 325-331. Was very likely the eldest son, by a first marriage, of Robert Ridsdale of Halstead, which is about six miles southwest of Bures St. Mary. The fact that they both used the alternate surnames indicates that they belonged to the same immediate family group. They lived in the part of that parish which lies south of the River Stour and is in the county of Essex. The church, however, is on the north side of the river in Suffolk.
