  Biography
  
  Isabell was mentioned in the will of her mother Olive Overton dated 19 December 1545. She was already married to John Cordall at that time and they are referred to as "my sonne John Cordall and Isabel his wyffe", also "my daughters Catheryne and Isabell". Executors were "my sonne Edward Isabell Cordall and Katheryne my daughters".[1]

  1. The birth dates of the original profile and Geni (1532), disagree with Source S3 (1528) and S4 (1543). The birth date of her oldest child (1563) is consistent with any of these dates, though 1532 would be more typical.
  
  2. The sources disagree on her birth place, Easington, Yorkshire, Bedworth, Warwickshire, Clerkenwell, Middlesex. Perhaps there is more than one Isabel.
  
  3. The father for each source are listed as a variation of Guthlake, Cuthbert, and Guthlac. The mother is always Olive Browne.
  
  Date of birth: Before 1530, and could be as early as 1511. Isabel was probably the eldest or next eldest of five daughters (seven sons are counted separately), and her father died in 1536. Her parents are said to have married about 1510.[3] Her mother's will is dated 19 December 1545 and Isabel was already married at that time to John Cordall, who is entrusted with nearly all the inheritance arrangements for Isabel's unmarried sisters, and was an overseer of the will, so was probably older than 21. Isabell was an executor of the will herself and not likely to be under 16.
  
  Place of birth: cannot find any evidence of a connection with Yorkshire at that time. Isabel's father was born in Lincolnshire, held lands in Wiltshire and London, was commissioner for Duchy of Cornwall lands from 1508 onwards, M.P. for Wallingford, Oxfordshire 1529 - 1533 and auditor of the order of St John of Jerusalem. The order of St John had its headquarters in Clerkenwell, London, and Guthlac was living nearby at the time he died. Of the three birthplaces given for Isabel above, only Clerkenwell has a known connection.[4]
  
  Isabel daughter of Guthlac and Olive Overton is fairly well documented by her mother's will which also includes her husband. She probably died in Edmonton, London, in 1560. There is no evidence at the moment of a Bristol connection.

  Suspicious genealogy as middle names were practically non-existent then in England.
  The only child listed for William "In Search of Mr. Overton ..." was a daughter Susan. According to this source, there is good evidence that when William died in 1609 his only living child was a daughter Susan. [p. 223]. Isabel Elizabeth Overton has a death date of 1643 listed for her.
