  The Visitations of Wiltshire in 1565 and 1623 recorded Joane Brounker as the daughter of Robert Brounker of Melksham, Wiltshire, and the wife of John Smyth of Corsham, Wiltshie.
  
  Joan was recorded in the will of her father, Robert Brounker, the will made on 31 January 1535/1536 and proved on 17 February 1537/1538.
